Nature Walks are inspiring and refreshing. Today my Grandchildren and I went for a nature walk; just after dawn to enjoy the cool breeze and the beauty of the interesting environment.

Early morning was a perfect time to go because at dawn time as sunlight merges colors of the sky changes to soft subtle colors from warm and vibrant colors making the surrounding more obvious, cool and exciting.

Ten minutes’ walk from home took us to forest area. The area is covered with lush green trees, ferns, foliage and plants of wild flowers such as Cow Parsnip, Giant Hogweed, Angelica, Daisy, Forget Me knots, Flex Poison Hemlock. Sarsaparilla and Wild Parsnip.

We were in colorful and mystic environment. The chipping of birds, the buzzing sounds of insects could be heard. Children were excited to see beautiful butterflies and hopping of rabbits, & squirrels. The squirrels were also of varied colors black, brown & stripped. They were thrilled happy to see a huge tortoise crossing the road.

Children wanted to know about varied habitat, of this particular forest, so we spoke about Moose, Deer, Barred Owl, White tailed Deer, Flying Squirrel, Grey Trod Frog, Yellow Warbler and Wood Pecker.

We were there for two hours collected variety of leaves, flowers and acorn for our further nature study.

For me the Nature Walk to the forest are stunning, and a magical site. In the words of John Keats.

“A thing of beauty is a joy forever its loveliness increases, it will never pass into nothingness”.
