These books are a selection of outstanding literary work compiled by Mr. Anwar Abbas. They are a resource for empowering & developing the literacy and language competency specifically for Junior High Scholars.

The content of the book include some classic stories, poems, and articles of the many world languages including Urdu. Varied topics are covered such as, glimpses of the history of Pakistan; Islamic Scholars who laid the foundation of Modern Science and an article on Pakistan’s Noble Prize winning physicist Dr. Abdus Salam by Professor S. Khurshid Hasnain. Inspiring life sketches of people like Helen Adams Keller, Maria Curie, and Einstein job interview, these geniuses crossed all the hurdles with their determination, dedication and passion of work.

The book captures literacy work of people coming from different countries, with varied backgrounds, and speaking different languages, such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez from Colombia. Henri Rene Albert Guy De Maupassant French writer, Leo Tolstoy Russian writer, and William Sydney Porter O Henry; American short story writer.

The books " A window to World Writings" revived my teenage memories, it brought back excitement and fascination that I had when I first read " Adventure of Tom Sawyer", and" Adventure of Huckleberry Finn". The attraction and love for reading was initiated by reading the books of Mark Twain.

I also found the poem “CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGATE” by Alferd Lord Tennyson in this book, this was the first emotional poem I had read; it touched my heart and was thought provoking. I was happy to find the name and detail of the poet who wrote such a moving and philosophical poem.
