One of my daily activity is supporting my seven years old grandson Mustafa in doing the given homework. To make the learning procedure interesting and meaningful for him I add my own ideas to the given work considering his learning pattern, interest and skills.

The home assignment of this particular week was based on Father’s Day so I decided to put all the given work in a creative activity of preparing a gift and a card. To add excitement and eagerness for the activity; I told my grandson that it’s a secret and don’t let anyone know about our planning.

Mustafa is always interested in giving surprises, so the card also had the caption SURPRISE at the top. On opening the card the slogan and pictures expressing his deep emotions for his father was there; BABA MY SUPER HERO. Inside the card he made a hand span and on each finger he wrote what special things the father does for him. On one side of the card a poem was pasted which he learnt to recite with expressions and had done the rhyming word activity on it.

Mustafa thoroughly enjoyed the activity of making the card, wrapping, the chocolate and decorating the bag. I was pleased to see his enthusiasm, compassion and his independent working.
